Expertise

Sylvain Gariépy, a partner at Provencher_Roy since 2011, has been serving as a project leader and a consultant in multidisciplinary groups for more than 20 years. His work has covered a broad range of projects for municipalities of various sizes as well as for government organizations and private clients. Assignments for Québec municipalities in the planning and regulation fields, along with real estate development work, are among the mandates that match his professional experience in the company.

Sylvain handles planning, management and supervision aspects in his role of project leader. He also coordinates various issues with clients, hosts public consultations, meets with follow-up committees and oversees the quality of deliverables. General audiences gain from his flexibility and his ability to make complex ideas clearly understandable. His deep and varied experience in municipal matters and real estate projects helps his team find simple, realistic solutions to urban planning issues. He is known for his keen knowledge of how things work at the various decision-making levels in land use planning.

Sylvain’s leadership role in urban planning and urban design engendered a complementary relationship between different areas of expertise in carrying out innovative, award-winning projects. For instance, the development plan for Phase 2 of the Technopôle Angus was recognized as Best Overall project in the Canadian Urban Institute’s 2015 Brownie Awards and also won a 2016 Urban Design Award issued by the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada. Other examples include development of the urban integration criteria for the new Champlain Bridge and redevelopment of Sainte-Catherine Street for the City of Montréal.
