Pratt & Whitney’s Test Centre for Aircraft Engines project is located within the Montreal Foreign Trade Zone in Mirabel, a free port which is part of the airport site. The facility is composed of two steel structure sheds boasting span of 72 m and a height of 33 m, machine, paint and sheet metal shops, administrative offices, a medical centre and a cafeteria and its kitchen. An outdoor terrace for the employees’ enjoyment completes the program.

The architectural expression of the proposed concept reflects Pratt & Withney’s continued dedication to hight tech and expresses an avant-garde corporate image.
The location of the Centre on the site was selected to minimize its environment impact by preserving existing wetlands, trees and other vegetation. The project was designed to meet the requirements of the LEED-NC Silver certification.
