The initial plan for the 228,300 m2 hospital complex featured modern, open architecture inspired by international design, featuring volumes and passages that create a harmonious blend of the institutional and human dimensions.
The CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) will house a team of some 1,300 researchers, master’s, doctoral and post-doctorate students, and technical and administrative personnel on six sites dedicated to research activities, thus constituting a world-calibre hub of health research expertise.
The CRCHUM will distinguish itself by its exceptional capacity for basic research as well as an approach to clinical research designed to develop new treatments and more effective approaches from original knowledge, all for the benefit of patients.
