With dual training in architecture and urban planning, Gerardo Pérez brings more than twenty-five years of experience in design and planning. Driven by innovation and the transformation of living environments, he is equally interested in reimagining existing spaces and creating new environments. Gerardo places people’s experience, comfort, well-being and aesthetics at the heart of his work, while ensuring that each project is thoughtfully integrated into its context.
Since joining Provencher_Roy in 2016, he has served as a design lead on a wide range of large-scale projects, including the transformation of the Place du Portage III complex, HEC Montréal’s Hélène-Desmarais Pavilion, the Kahnawà:ke Arts and Culture Centre, and Carré Saint-Laurent. He also contributes to the ideation and development of proposals for architectural competitions. His multidisciplinary approach is grounded in training in architecture, urban planning, sustainable development and environmental management, as well as a master’s degree in land-use planning and regional development from Université Laval. This complementary expertise enables him to approach projects from a holistic perspective, at the intersection of architecture, urban planning and sustainable development.
His versatility allows him to work across a broad range of sectors, including multi-residential, healthcare, transportation, education, urban design and lanscape architecture. His portfolio includes Tour Symphonia, Noca, Jardins Dorval, Hôpital de Verdun, Montréal–Trudeau International Airport, the Vendôme Station entrance pavilion, Polytechnique Montréal, and the Champlain Heritage Trail. His approach seeks to strike a balance between aesthetic quality, human experience, functionality and context.
