Benoit Laforest

Public Practice Principal Partner, Architect OAQ, MRAIC

Benoit Laforest is part of the leadership team at the helm of the practice. He joined Provencher_Roy as a partner in 2018, in the context of a partnership established with BBBL (Birtz Bastien Beaudoin Laforest) architecture firm, where he was co-founder and worked from 1991 to 2018, ultimately as a principal partner. He is an authority in management, programming, and strategic planning on a provincial level, due to his in-depth knowledge of the functioning and inner workings of the Société québécoise des infrastructures (SQI), a long-standing client he has developed a close relationship with. Whether through master plan creation, strategic or real estate analysis production for development, expansion, or restructuring initiatives, in the space of 2 decades, he has contributed to nearly 40 projects in the health care sector, representing three quarters of all architectural mandates executed in the field within the province of Québec.

Benoit’s exceptional leadership and sensitive approach centred first and foremost around user well-being, coupled with his technical savvy, reinforce his mastery of the specific challenges affecting project stakeholders. As a designer and studio director, he steers numerous large-scale hospital projects, such as the new Hôpital de Vaudreuil-Soulanges, new Centre intégré de traumatologie at Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal, and the expansion and redevelopment of Lachine Hospital and the Montreal Heart Institute. Furthermore, as Advocate Architect, Benoit is currently orchestrating concept development for the major Maisons des aînés construction mandate.
