Equisoft is a Montreal-based consulting firm that specializes in designing solutions for business. The company wanted to relocate its 120 employees to a brighter work environment by consolidating all its teams in the same suite.
The client’s limited budget, specific design guidelines and tight deadline made this a highly complex turnkey project. Through tight coordination between the various stakeholders, in partnership with the general contractor, it was possible to reconcile the budget with the conceptual notion, and respect both throughout the project.

From the outset, it was important for the client to enable all employees to enjoy natural light. As a result, the built areas were concentrated in the centre of the suite with windows on both sides. Because the selected area had no access to a strong natural light source, white finishings and the addition of discreet but efficient lighting fixtures helped accentuate the desired brightne
Since the employees could not be relocated on the same floor, a central staircase had to be added as a focal point of the conceptual development.
The desire to integrate corporate branding into the new design defined the palette of contrasting colours and anchored the key elements of the project. Red became the core colour, enabling us to unify the common areas on both floors by creating a vertical column consisting of the staircase and areas surrounding it. The red was even extended to the main cloakroom, and highlights the entrance to the client spaces.
