Henri B – Phase I

This signature project encourages the adoption of a more socially and ecologically responsible lifestyle. The pedestrian experience is enriched by paths punctuated by architectural sub-spaces or varied landscapes. An uninterrupted architectural rhythm, marked by wayfinding signs that facilitate pedestrian orientation, is taking hold. An evident link between the ground floor and the public or private appropriation of the outdoor spaces is being defined.

The program consists of three types of housing: a principal edifice comprised of condo units, and two rows of small houses. The clear materiality used for these three volumes lends coherence to the ensemble. A row configuration is deployed throughout the site, maximizing siting potential and enabling the creation of an inner courtyard and a green walkway.

The project features a contemporary architectural style whose geometric configuration and modulation of façades define a signature style that is sober and refined. Each of the façades is treated as a principal façade, sometimes visible from a pedestrian alley, a garden or the public space. They are distinguished from one another as a function of their particular environments, creating a series of tableaux whose superposition produces a multifaceted whole, with contrasting warm colours and tones inspired by the neighbourhood’s built environment, yet in harmony thanks to the complementarity of the materials and the colour palette.
