Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal expansion showcased in the new Panorama magazine, published by the AAPPQ

The AAPPQ’s reference manual has been renewed to become Panorama, a magazine application bringing together the Association’s repertoire, interviews, and a selection of 25 Québécois architectural projects, including the recent Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal expansion.

Benoit Laforest, Principal Partner at Provencher_Roy; and Maryse Barrette, Principal Partner at Yelle Maillé present the Hôpital du Sacré-Cœur-de-Montréal project in an interview entitled “Health care architecture: the details behind the simplicity and sobriety,” exploring how to reconcile the existing built environment, user well-being, clients’ confidence, and the role of the architect as a catalyst in highly complex projects.

“Work in the health care field falls a bit outside the public spotlight because our creations are mainly functional. Given that the same pursuit of excellence and level of quality of architectural gestures in health care can easily go unnoticed, being recognized for this type of project is truly a gift for me. It’s rare,” states Benoit Laforest.

Two additional Provencher_Roy projects are also featured in this edition: the Vendôme Intermodal Hub (in collaboration with Bisson_Fortin) and Port of Montréal Tower and Grand Quai.

The Association has also granted the title of Honorary Member to France Vanlaethem, Professor Emeritus at UQAM and Heritage Consultant, who we congratulate and thank for her commitment to the conservation of modern architectural heritage in Québec.
