Provencher_Roy won three awards at the 10th edition of the Grands Prix du Design, a gala ceremony that celebrates excellence in design and architecture in Québec.

Au Sommet Place Ville Marie distinguished itself in the Sustainable Development category. By rehabilitating the observation deck on the top floors of the cross-shaped tower into a new, resolutely modern one providing a 360° view of Montreal, Sid Lee Architecture and Provencher_Roy, in collaboration with GSM Project, successfully rose to the challenge of repositioning this iconic location and returning it to its former glory as a bustling, contemporary and vital space. Through their reinterpretation of this space, the firms have delivered a masterly demonstration of reutilization and recycling.
In the Commercial Space, 1,600–5,400 sq. ft. category, the Délices, Érable & Cie! project won for its spot-on retro/urban balance. Dominated by maple, a material selected for its solidity and warmth, the space provides clients an experience that lies somewhere between that of a café and a boutique. The sturdiness of the stones and bricks, the elegance of the quartz, the urban sophistication of the black metal, and the heritage feel of the copper were all meticulously incorporated into this project. The overall effect is one of refinement, with a subtle evocation of the tradition that lies at the heart of maple products.
The Pierre Lassonde Pavilion of the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec once again impressed in the Cultural Institution category. Designed by the consortium of OMA and Provencher_Roy, the building integrates into a complex site with a rich heritage, strengthening the links between the disparate elements that are Québec City, Battlefields Park and the MNBAQ. Its stunning cantilever announces the pavilion’s main entrance, while a 79-step monumental spiral staircase and a 40-step exterior pop-out staircase offer spectacular views of the park, the city and the museum.
