The Alexandra Pier will soon be rechristened the Grand Quai. A big family party will be held Sunday, June 3 starting at 10 a.m. to mark the site’s complete revitalization. Come discover the new port facilities designed to welcome cruise passengers, tourists and visitors to Montreal, as well as the new green spaces which offer unique views of the Saint Lawrence River and the city.

The event will include numerous activities: visits of the History of Ships exhibition in the Port Centre; visits of the new cruise terminal, access to which is usually reserved for cruise passengers; giant games for the kids; themed workshops; and more.

Two new spaces will open to the public for this occasion: Promenade d’Iberville, a large green rooftop; and Commencement Square, a vast lawn area along the river, with a lowered wharf that offers exceptional access to the river. The works for the revitalization of the Port of Montreal’s Grand Quay will for the most part be completed when the site opens to the general public, with the parking facility remaining to be completed later in 2018 and an observation tower to be erected near the river and slated to open its doors in 2021.
