Junior interior designer

Provencher_ Roy is currently looking for an ambitious and talented interior designer with 3 to 4 years' experience in the corporate office sector to join our team in the Ottawa office.  The position will offer the ideal candidate the opportunity to take on various challenges such as:

  • Reporting to the Senior Interior Designer or Partner-in-charge, coordinating projects in accordance with your experience, and maintaining a positive client relationship
  • Collaborating with interior design and architectural colleagues on a variety of projects
  • Working on layout plans
  • Performing architectural site surveys and furniture inventories
  • Meticulously preparing plans and execution drawings, cost estimates and detailed design specifications for permit and tender
  • Researching suitability of and specifying products and materials
  • Participating in concept development, and preparing concept presentations
  • Researching and specifying furniture
  • Verifying your work for accuracy and ensuring it is completed to the highest standard
  • Contract administration: Reviewing and approving shop drawings and preparing site documentation, participation in site meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • College, Bachelor or Master’s degree in Interior design;
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in interior design; preferably in office design
  • NCIDQ certification, or actively pursuing certification
  • Excellent communication skills in English, knowledge of French (an asset)
  • Exceptional design and conceptual skills and strong presentation skills
  • Good mastery of AutoCAD, Sketch-up, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Revit (an asset)
  • LEED-AP and/or WELL-AP (an asset)
