Provencher_Roy is currently looking for a Junior Designer to join our Ottawa office. The position will offer the opportunity to accomplish various challenges such as:

  • Working on programming and planning studies;
  • Performing architectural site surveys and furniture inventories;
  • Meticulously preparing plans and execution drawings in CAD format (Revit – an asset);
  • Assisting in the preparation of cost estimates and detailed design specifications for permit; and tender;
  • Verifying your work for accuracy and ensuring it is completed to the highest standard;
  • Assisting in the preparation of design concepts and client presentations;
  • Assisting in the preparation of furniture specifications;
  • Coordinating with The Partner in Charge, colleagues, clients, and engineers on a diverse range of projects;
  • Contract administration: Reviewing and approving shop drawings and preparing site documentation; performing deficiency reviews
  • Contract coordination: attending client meetings lead by the Project Director and taking meeting minutes.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

  • BAC and/or DEC in interior design
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Enscape, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of Revit (an asset)
  • Student member of ARIDO or APDIQ, NCIDQ certification required within 5 years of hire
  • Creative talent and passion for design
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and attention to detail
  • Bilingual in English and French (an asset)
  • Strong collaboration skills and work ethic
