Construction work officially kicks off at the new Hôpital de Vaudreuil-Soulanges
On February 10, Québec Minister of Health Christian Dubé announced the beginning of work on the new Hôpital Vaudreuil-Soulanges. As Advocate Architect of the project, Provencher_Roy et Yelle Maillé architectes in joint venture is fully immersed in the hospital programming and real estate solution of the historic construction. In fact, this hospital project constitutes the first one in over 30 years to be carried out in the Montérégie-Ouest region.
“This project evokes a volumetry and localization that pay homage to the unique pre-existing agricultural lots of Québec. Bringing forward the biophilia concept, the orientation of volumes enhances user well-being and the symbiosis between the exterior landscape and the building’s interior spaces,” explains Benoit Laforest, Principal Partner at Provencher_Roy.
This new 132,340-m2 construction therefore contributes greatly to the population’s growing health care needs, especially in response to an increasingly elderly demographic.
