Alain Dagenais

Partner, Principal Technologist

Alain Dagenais has acquired over 30 years of experience as an architectural technologist, including 27 years with the firm. Thanks to his stellar expertise in building envelopes, the Place des Arts Esplanade renovation project he is currently working on has garnered a 2021 award of excellence from the American Concrete Institute. A reference in technical design and plans and specifications, Alain acts as a pincipal technologist, lead, and coordinator for institutional projects, such as the Decelles Building – HEC Montréal renovation and Société de transport de Montréal (STM) installations refurbishment. In addition to offering crucial technical support for a wide variety of projects, he is responsible for implementing and overseeing strict quality control procedures for all production carried out in the workshop.

Furthermore, Alain works as a site supervisor on numerous highly technical construction projects, like the Pointe-à-Callière – Montréal Archaeology and History Complex expansion (Fort Ville-Marie – Québecor Pavilion – Phase II), Atwater filtration plant revamping and upgrading, Montréal-Trudeau International Airport North and South Jetty expansion, and Université de Montréal Biodiversity Centre (Jardin botanique) construction. Alain is also implicated in training the next generation of technologists, working closely with several educational institutions mentoring students of architectural technology.
