Frédéric Champagne

Associate, Architect, OAQ

A graduate of the master’s program at Université Laval in 2017, Frédéric Champagne is an architect and associate with Provencher_Roy. Characterized by international experience, his career path reflects his involvement working on large-scale public and residential projects in Québec, in addition to in Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. Through his frequent participation in competitions and work on project sketching, he has developed the ability to quickly evaluate possible design orientations prioritizing clear pragmatic solutions and reconciling material quality and contextual coherence.

As a versatile team player, Frédéric has worked with Provencher_Roy on projects of varying scales. He has been capable of managing significant functional organizational constraints, in addition to those presented by cohabiting with the existing built environment and dense urban spheres. For instance, he participated in the urban design competition for Silo #5 (the winning proposal), creation of an urban hotel at the Olympic Park, and design of a building consisting of 328 affordable housing units for Ville de Rimouski. More recently, he has contributed to complex institutional projects like the St. Mary’s Hospital Center expansion, Maisons des Aînés, and Giant Steps School, a private institution welcoming autistic students and recipient of an Architizer A+Awards 2023 Special Mention in the Architecture+Learning category. These projects demonstrate Frédéric’s interest in enhancing the user experience through the creation of new architectural and environmental qualities.
