Louise McGugan

Award-winning architect and consultant Louise McGugan has acquired over 40 years of professional experience. Project manager and associate based in Ottawa, she specializes in architectural team management, and supervises the restoration, renovation, and adaptive reuse of existing buildings, many of which are recognized by the Federal Heritage Buildings Review Office (FHBRO) or designated by the City of Ottawa, in accordance with Parts 4 or 5 of the Ontario Heritage Act.

Louise’s versatility and unifying skills have led her to become lead architect for numerous complex architectural projects accommodating a wide range of programs, for which she has participated in all phases, from design to construction. Her expertise spans the realization of conceptual and schematic drawings, design and construction development, site analyses, contract administration, field review, commissioning, post-construction, and closeout services. Louise has also developed in-depth experience in preparing reports on the condition of existing buildings and heritage conservation, and on cultural heritage impact assessments.
