Quartier international de Montréal
The QIM’s urban redevelopment project for Montreal’s international business district consisted in carrying out a large-scale program to restructure and revitalize an area located between Montreal’s new and former business districts, where today there is a high concentration of international activity unparalleled in Canada. The challenge of this project was to develop a distinctive theme for the QIM, based on the district’s heritage, yet with a contemporary, prestigious, signature style. The scope of work included the consolidation and restructuring of spaces and public thoroughfares, modernization of infrastructures, design and shaping of the landscape structure, lighting plan, street furniture and signage.
The project, which was developed in two phases between 1998 and 2004, has won a dozen awards and commendations for excellence for making significant improvements to Montreal’s living and working environment.
