Sébastien Frenette

BIM Director Ing.

Sébastien Frenette graduated in engineering from École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS). He holds a master’s in construction engineering from the GRIDD laboratory, which has enabled him to develop cutting-edge expertise in BIM processes and the related organizational changes. He has acquired 12 years in the architectural field, including over 4 years with Provencher_Roy.

As BIM Director, Sébastien manages the development and integration of BIM processes for the firm, and ensures the digital transition of its construction projects.

He is involved on numerous projects in a cross-disciplinary way. For instance, as BIM manager, he collaborated on the new Hôpital Vaudreuil-Soulanges, a construction consisting of 400 beds for which he was responsible for implementing a data management platform and creating multidisciplinary technical forms. In the context of this project, Sébastien in fact composed a white paper on data centralization. He also worked on the expansion and revamping of the emergency department at the Montreal Heart Institute, a project aiming to provide the Institute with cutting-edge infrastructures and to maintain its leadership in the cardiology field.

Very dedicated to his field, Sébastien has been President of the Board of Directors of BIM Québec since 2017, a community of practitioners mandating governmental BIM initiatives to structure the digital transition in Québec. He also devotes time to animating conferences, such as the buildingSMART International Summit.
