YOUR ROLE

As an Intermediate Interior Designer, you will contribute to the development and delivery of a wide range of projects. Working closely with senior designers and project teams, you will be involved in all phases of design—from concept development to construction documentation—while continuing to build your technical expertise and design leadership skills.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contribute to interior design projects across public and private sectors (institutional, commercial, workplace, mixed-use, etc.)
  • Assist in the development of design concepts that respond to client needs and project objectives
  • Prepare and coordinate design documentation, including drawings, specifications, and finish selections
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout all project phases
  • Support compliance with building codes, accessibility standards (AODA), and industry best practices
  • Participate in project meetings, client presentations, and design reviews
  • Assist with project coordination, timelines, and deliverables
  • Conduct research on materials, products, and emerging design trends
  • Contribute to a collaborative and creative team environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Registered Interior Designer and active member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) – required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
  • Demonstrated experience contributing to projects across multiple sectors
  • Strong design sensibility with a portfolio showcasing creativity, attention to detail, and technical proficiency
  • Working knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, accessibility standards, and applicable regulations
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp and visualization tools are an asset)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work in a bilingual (French/English) environment is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage priorities effectively
  • Good understanding of contract furniture
