The definitive role of architecture in response to the climate and energy crisis constitutes the greatest challenge of our time. Cross-disciplinarity guides our approach to sustainability for projects of all sizes – from the concept of public spaces through to the selection of materials, energy efficiency, and ultimately, climate change mitigation.
Fully aware that the projects we build generate much higher quantities of greenhouse gas emissions than our daily operations, we are nonetheless collectively determined to implement further eco-responsible practices. Today, we embark on an ambitious challenge proposed by the federal government: to ensure that by 2050 our offices will have ceased to produce carbon emissions.
Striving to contribute to a better world for all, we support many organizations defending the mental health and physical integrity of individuals in difficulty, particularly Tel-jeunes and La rue des Femmes. Provencher_Roy is also a faithful partner of Architecture Without Borders, advocating for architectural solidarity in Canada and internationally, through assisting populations that have been victims of crises, natural disasters, or social inequalities.
