PR GERARDO PEREZ Fiche

Lead Designer, Partner, Architect and Urban Planner, OAQ, OUQ

Fascinated by the permanent metamorphosis of existing geometries, Gerardo Pérez composes and recomposes spaces that are fluid and harmonious. Benefitting from a double training in architecture and urban planning, he has been working as a designer in both fields for 25 years, in Mexico and Québec. He joined Provencher_Roy in 2016 and contributes actively to the firm’s success, in the development of numerous large-scale projects, such as the Place du Portage III complex transformation, Hélène Desmarais Building – HEC Montréal construction, and proposal conceptualization for many competitions.

A graduate of sustainable development and environmental design management at Universidad Iberoamericana Puebla in Mexico and holder of a Master’s from Université Laval, with specializations in land-use planning and regional development, Gerardo Pérez has a multifaceted vision of urban planning parameters. He excels particularly in the rehabilitation of urban landscapes and the conceptualization and composition of new configurations. Above all, human comfort and well-being guide the aesthetic orientation and malleability of the projects he creates.

Gerardo’s versatility leads him to become involved in a wide variety of contexts, including the multi-residential sector (Symphonia Pop, Domaine du Cloître Phases I & II, Grace Dart site reconversion, Les Jardins Dorval, Imperia Condominiums, Ateliers Castelnau, Le 1750 Cedar); health care field (Montreal Heart Institute, Hôpital de Verdun); and transportation sector (Gates 1 & 3 expansion at the Montréal-Trudeau International Airport, Vendôme metro entrance and tunnel linking to the MUHC, Passerelle Savane).
