YOUR ROLE
As a Senior Interior Designer, you will play a key leadership role in the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. You will contribute your expertise across all phases—from concept development through to construction—while mentoring team members and ensuring design excellence and technical rigor.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead interior design projects across public and private sectors
- Develop creative and functional design concepts aligned with client needs, project goals, and regulatory requirements
- Produce and oversee design documentation, including drawings, specifications, finish selections, and material palettes
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients throughout all project phases
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and industry best practices
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with a high level of autonomy
- Participate in client presentations, proposals, and design reviews
- Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
- Mentor and support intermediate and junior designers, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Stay current with materials, technologies, and sustainability practices
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Registered Interior Designer and active member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) – required
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
- Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience
- Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects across multiple sectors
- Strong design sensibility with a portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail
- Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, accessibility standards, and relevant regulations
- Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp and visualization tools are an asset)
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a bilingual (French/English) environment is considered an asset
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of other staff
- Good understanding of contract furniture
