YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Interior Designer, you will play a key leadership role in the design and delivery of a diverse portfolio of projects. You will contribute your expertise across all phases—from concept development through to construction—while mentoring team members and ensuring design excellence and technical rigor.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead interior design projects across public and private sectors
  • Develop creative and functional design concepts aligned with client needs, project goals, and regulatory requirements
  • Produce and oversee design documentation, including drawings, specifications, finish selections, and material palettes
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, and clients throughout all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with applicable building codes, accessibility standards, and industry best practices
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables with a high level of autonomy
  • Participate in client presentations, proposals, and design reviews
  • Contribute to business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships
  • Mentor and support intermediate and junior designers, fostering a collaborative team environment
  • Stay current with materials, technologies, and sustainability practices

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

  • Registered Interior Designer and active member of ARIDO (Association of Registered Interior Designers of Ontario) – required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design or a related field
  • Minimum of 8–10 years of professional experience
  • Proven experience managing and delivering complex projects across multiple sectors
  • Strong design sensibility with a portfolio demonstrating creativity, technical expertise, and attention to detail
  • Excellent knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, accessibility standards, and relevant regulations
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; SketchUp and visualization tools are an asset)
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a bilingual (French/English) environment is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to direct and coordinate work efforts of other staff
  • Good understanding of contract furniture
