The Algonquin Learning Center was conceived as an innovative learning hub that expands Algonquin’s corporate training capabilities, and acts as a showcase for their brand in the downtown core.

The project includes a welcoming reception area, several classrooms and a large multi-purpose room divided by folding movable partitions, a reception area, an open collaboration atrium, several coffee stations and an office area for the learning centre staff.

Provencher_Roy met Algonquin’s objectives by designing a dynamic space that integrates both sustainability principles and the Center’s culture, while encouraging visitors to make it their own. Acoustic performance, lighting, audiovisual systems, and security were key priorities throughout the project.

Extensive consultations were held with stakeholders from the Center, and a series of workshops and design reviews led to the project’s approval. It was completed within a defined budget and tight timeline, in collaboration with a construction manager and Algonquin College’s internal project management team.
