Located in Hawkesbury, Ontario, the École Paul VI project gives a contemporary face to an existing school building.

The intervention focused on the brick façade, bringing elegance, lightness, and brightness through the addition of a canopy and a perforated aluminum screen wall.

The new main entrance transforms how passersby and visitors perceive the school, now offering a warm and welcoming image. The new cladding features symbols and patterns that reflect the school’s history and values, while enhancing its luminosity.

During the day, the perforated metal casts delicate shadows on the floors and interior walls, while at night, the backlit façade showcases the school’s new identity. These additions lend the old building a distinctly contemporary character. A generous wood-accented canopy adds warmth and comfort, sheltering children and staff from the elements on their way to the daycare or schoolyard.
